The Importance of Praying Earnestly in the Morning & How It can Impact Our Kids

Today, I am in the Book of Psalms, Psalms 5 (NIV).

Psalms 5, teaches and encourages us to pray to God earnestly in the morning before our day starts. This allows us to strengthen our minds and commit our day to the Lord. If we do this each day, our relationship with Him grows, and we are more and more aware of His Guidance throughout our day.

When we commit our day to the Lord, we are even more conscious about making Godly

decisions throughout our day and to live the Words that He has placed in our hearts through the study of His Word. We prepare and arm ourselves for what the day may bring. Remember God already knows what your day holds and what you will need.

We aren’t perfect, but when we align ourselves with God each day, we become tolerant and compassionate of people but less tolerant of sin… It’s that awareness that creates a deep desire within us to make those right, Godly decisions.

So, How do we come to God?

The amount of time that you set aside in the morning is up to you. We all live busy lives, but it is so very important to include God in our day. Isn’t it comforting to know that God is walking with you throughout your day? All you have to do is invite Him into your day. Think about the confidence you can have by knowing that you committed your day to Him, and you are being guided by Him.

How does that pertain to parenting?

As parents and caregivers, we want our children to have confidence and to make right life decisions. Teach them to start their day with God and commit their day to Him. That will give them the confidence that they are never alone. By teaching them God’s Word, we equip them with the knowledge that they need to be guided by the Holy Spirit. When they are faced with a decision, the Holy Spirit will guide them through the Word of God that you have shared with them. They will be able to make Godly decisions, even when you aren’t there to guide them.

I pray that each post is enriching and encouraging to you in your parenting journey.

Be a blessing. 🙂

“It is finished.”

As I sit and reflect on this past week leading up to and including Easter, John 19:30 keeps playing over and over in my head.

When Jesus had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.”         – John 19:30 (NIV)

It is finished… It is finished… It is finished… Why is that verse sitting differently in my heart?

… because itisfinished!

I knew that those who believed in Jesus’ death and resurrection could approach and live eternally with God and escape the penalties that come with sin… BUT… Something else was revealed to me!

“It is finished.” … Meaning WE are already forgiven. WE are already healed. WE are already prosperous. WE are already blessed!

WE need to RECEIVE and BELIEVE what Jesus has ALREADY DONE for us.

Jesus became the final, ultimate sacrifice…All of our sins were covered.

If you study the Bible, we are taught that the word final literally means “Paid In Full.”

Jesus came to finish God’s work for our salvation, because He loves every single one of us.

… So, whatever your challenges are today… Be comforted that Jesus has already taken care of it… and if you lean into Him, listen, and follow Him, He will lead you through.

How does this pertain to parenting?

When we lean into Him, we feel confident and peaceful. We know that we are being loved and guided in the direction that we should be. We want our children to have the same peace as they move through their days.

Let’s teach them God’s Word, so they learn to lean into Him and follow Him down the path that God has set for their life.

I sincerely pray that each post is enriching and encouraging to you in your parenting journey.

Be a blessing. 🙂

The Power of Prayer…

Dear Lord,

I hear You… In the midst of my day, when I am on the verge of being shaken, I will remember to whisper Your Name… Jesus.

I will let go and detach from all the disturbances around me… I will rest in You… Circumstances can not touch my peace.

I will seek Your Face, so I may share Your Mind and Your Actions… I will see Your Perspective.

I will not let my heart be troubled… I will not be afraid… Your peace is sufficient.

(John 14:27) (John 16:33) (Psalm 105:4)

Lord, I know that You are my absolute Center, because You are my Savior.

I am looking for and listening to You… All I have to do is whisper Your Name to come back into being Centered and in Your Rest and Peace… Thank You, Jesus.

… Amen.
